‘Magical outdoors’ the keynote speech at Bucks Learning Trust conference
Making the outdoors a magical experience for children was the theme for FSLI Director Chris Dee's keynote speech at this months' Early Years conference run by the Buckinghamshire Learning Trust.
'Magical Outdoors, Turning the 'urban' into Forest School' was an opportunity for Chris to show how an outdoor space (even if it's quite limited) can be used to create an inspiring Forest School experience. Drawing from case studies in Bucks, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich, Lewisham & Southwark, Chris shared plenty of examples that sparked off ideas, shared best practice and fired up some great conversations during the breakout sessions.
The summer conference, called 'Joy, Wonder and Curiosity'. attracted Early Years practitioners from across Buckinghamshire and offered a range of workshops, inspiration, advice and practical ideas to add vibrancy to EYFS provision, both indoors and outdoors, in the county.
Our invitation to speak at the conference follows on from Chris running training programmes for Level 3 Forest School in the county for a number of years.
