Following the latest successful trip to Australia plans are already under way for a return visit during June/July 2018. FSLI Director, Chris Dee and Forest School Leader, Tracy Betley returned to the UK on Saturday (28th October), and Chris described the trip and training as 'awesome'.

FSLI Director, Chris Dee and Forest School Leader, Tracy Betley have completed a successful first week in Australia, and they are now preparing to join up with Nature Play QLD on Monday for the latest round of Forest School Leader Training, Level 3.

We reached a very notable milestone this month when we celebrated our tenth anniversary - although we didn't have time for a party! However, we did issue a press release and this resulted in some very nice coverage in the local media. The full text from the press release is reproduced below, please feel free to share it, and for more information about Forest School Learning Initiative please contact Christina Dee at or the FSLI office on 01242 602476, email

A fabulous 3 page article called 'Growing with Forest School' has just been published by the Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland in their 'Early Edition' Winter 2017 emagazine. It was written by Anya Perkins, who is an Education Coordinator with Nature Play QLD. Anya also works for FSLI in Australia and was part of the team during our recent two week stay down under.

FSLI Director, Chris Dee has hailed the latest trip to Australia as a ‘major success’. The team arrived back in the UK on Saturday (1st July) after a two week stay, and preparations are already under way for their next visit in October.
